Wooofyland is dedicated to breeding healthy, well-socialized AKC Miniature Dachshunds in Southern California. Our focus is on health, temperament, and structure to ensure each puppy is a perfect addition to a loving home. About Us
Hi! My name is Karen, and I’m the owner of Wooofyland.
I’m a dachshund mom first and a breeder second. My dogs are my life, and this incredible breed completely stole my heart from the moment I brought home my very first dachshund, Wooofy. (hence the name Wooofyland! 😂)
I do my best to breed as ethically and responsibly as possible. I focus on AKC Champion bloodlines and health, and I show some of my dogs in AKC conformation with the help of a professional handler. Before any dog is considered for my breeding program, they complete the breed-recommended OFA health testing and DNA testing. I also make sure they have wonderful temperaments, are confident, and get along well with other dogs, adults, and children.
Every puppy is raised inside my home in a clean, loving environment. From the day they are born, they receive daily handling, early socialization, and lots of love and attention. My goal is to give each puppy the very best start in life and match them with families who will love them just as much as I do.

Our Dogs
At Wooofyland, we proudly specialize in AKC Miniature Dachshunds. We do not breed Standard Dachshunds. Our dogs include both Long Haired and Smooth Haired varieties, each chosen for their wonderful temperaments, health, and quality.
Health testing
The health of our dogs is one of our top priorities. All of our breeding dogs complete the breed-recommended OFA health exams, including:
• OFA Patella (Knees)
• OFA CAER Eye Exam (performed by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist)
• OFA Cardiac Exam
In addition, all of our breeding dogs are DNA tested through Embark to screen for inherited genetic conditions and coat color genetics.
Copies of our dogs’ health testing results are available to potential puppy buyers upon request. We believe in being transparent and are always happy to answer any questions about our health testing program.
Pricing/Puppy package
Puppy Pricing
Our puppy prices range from $3,000–$4,000.
A $500 non-refundable reservation fee is required to reserve your puppy. This fee is applied toward the total purchase price. The remaining balance is due 5 days prior to your puppy’s pickup date.
We accept Zelle or cash only for direct payments. We do not accept Venmo, Cash App, or other payment apps. You may also choose to complete your purchase securely through Good Dog.
Every Wooofyland puppy goes home with:
• AKC Limited Registration (Pet Home)
• Age-appropriate vaccinations
• A complete veterinary wellness exam before going home
• Routine deworming beginning at 2 weeks of age and continued on schedule until pickup
• An AKC Reunite microchip with prepaid lifetime enrollment
• All veterinary records and paperwork
The Wooofyland experience
I know how exciting it is to watch your puppy grow, and I also know how hard it can be to wait until they’re ready to come home. That’s why, from the moment you reserve your puppy, you’ll receive weekly updates so you can follow along every step of the way.
Each update includes new photos and/or videos, along with milestone updates about your puppy’s growth, personality, and development. My goal is to make you feel like you’re part of their journey from day one until it’s finally time to welcome them home.
About The Breed
About the Miniature Dachshund
Miniature Dachshunds are affectionate, intelligent, and full of personality. Originally bred to hunt badgers, they are surprisingly brave, curious, and confident despite their small size. They form strong bonds with their families and love being involved in everyday life. Most Miniature Dachshunds mature between 9–11 pounds, making them a wonderful companion for those looking for a small breed that stays small throughout adulthood.
In my personal experience, Dachshunds are incredible companions. They are loving, loyal, and full of personality—which is probably why I have so many! 😂 They truly become part of the family.
That said, they are not the right breed for everyone. If you have a very busy lifestyle and cannot dedicate time to training, socialization, and companionship, a Dachshund may develop unwanted behaviors such as excessive barking, separation anxiety, or stubborn habits. Like any puppy, the puppy stage can be challenging, but the good news is that once you get through it, they don’t grow into a large dog—they stay the perfect little size.
Dachshunds are also a breed that requires lifelong care for their backs. They are predisposed to Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), which is why proper structure is so important. At Wooofyland, we focus on breeding dogs from AKC Champion bloodlines with sound structure to help reduce that risk as much as possible. While no breeder can guarantee a dog will never develop IVDD, responsible breeding plays an important role.
Owning a Dachshund also means making a few lifestyle adjustments. If you have stairs, you’ll need to help them go up and down or provide ramps throughout your home. Jumping on and off furniture should also be minimized to help protect their spine. If these are accommodations you’re not willing or able to make, this may not be the best breed for you.
For the right family, however, Miniature Dachshunds are some of the most rewarding companions you could ever ask for. They are endlessly entertaining, incredibly affectionate, and will fill your home with love for many years to come.
